Allsorts, Cute Card Thursday, Pile it On and Sketch & Stash Challenges.

A lovely day again so out with the children this morning to the local water park and nature reserve.

I nearly missed one of these challenges so I had better get on with it!!!

The sketch for this card was from Sketch and Stash and is shown below.
The stash I used was the ribbon I had recently purchased - a very neglected area for me!!
I then chose the colour theme from Cute Card Thursday which is Teal and Red. Some colours I have never put together before, so thanks for this challenge. I chose some papers from Funky Hand Seasons CD rom which I changed in My Craft Studio to the right colours.

The other challenge was to incorporate 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 ribbon and this was from Allsorts Challenges . The 3 flowers were from the Sugar Birdies CDRom and coloured in, papers as above and the ribbon is one of Anita's sticky ribbons.
Whoops missed a challenge - over at Pile it On - the challenge is to have at least three flowers.
Again I have done a close up becuase my camera doesn't show the detail very well.
As ever comments are appreciated.

ABC, Sketch Saturday and Cupcake Craft Challenges.

What a disappointment. It has just rained here after yesterdays glorious sunshine. Oh well it is supposed to get better this afternoon.

My card today makes me think of our trip to the beach yesterday!!! No we didn't see a mermaid though.
As always I am starting with the sketch from Sketch Saturday a copy is shown below.

I then picked my stamp from Lili of the Valley of Mermaid Coral. I coloured her in with watercolour pencils, and mounted the image on yellow card. I used papers from the Cute Companions "Summer Stories" CD rom. I edged the squares with silver peel off lines to give them more definition.
The card doesn't have any embellishments on it and therefore satisfies the ABC Challenge of Z for zero embellishments. Then I have used a beach theme which covers the Cupcake Craft Challenge.
As Ever I hope you like the card.

Six challenges in one this time!

Two posts in one night as well. The last one took ages and I couldn't get enough photos downloaded either!!

Well here goes. This card came together more easily than I expected.

Firstly, I used the Lili of the Valley sketch a copy of which is below.

Then I chose my image, which is a Pollycraft freebie of Feathers the dragon. I then coloured him in purple using my trusty Carane D'Ache water pencils. Thus covering the Our Creative Corner Colour Challenge of purple. I also needed to use a stamp so the background piece with the swirly flowers is one of Kay Carley's - Daisy Daydreams. This was coloured using Sakura stardust gel pens. Also colouring in a digi stamp was the challenge at Bee Crafty .
I have used purple glitter board for the main background which covers the bling challenge at Digital Tuesday .
The challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is Floral Fantasy - there are flower embellishments - Just Pots Funky Flowers - and flowers in the background and I think Feathers qualifies as the bit of fantasy!
Last but by no means least I have used some forgotten stash - the purple ribbon which is from American Crafts, Elements. This covers the challenge at My Time To Craft .

Phew!!!!

Day at the Beach

Yeh the forecast says sunshine so Little Dragon no 1 (No 2 LD is at nursery) and I are off to the beach at Teignmouth (Devon). Firstly, LD decides she wants to use her scooter, so we go up and down the seafront and I take some photos of the "Rubbish Art" and the pier. Then we sit on the beach LD makes a sandcastle of sorts because the sand is not fine enough to be firm. I have to trudge down to the water to get her bucket full but I notice some tiny crabs and manage to entice her down for about 5 seconds. She isn't afraid of the water but its a bit stony underfoot.
She decorates it with shells and a crabs claw!!!
We then have lunch and get covered in cherry juice, me on my top!!! and LD all over her face.
Afterwards we investigate the fair which is now open and spend £10 in 5 minutes. At least LD had fun. Just before going back to the car LD plays in the park for half an hour.
All in all a brilliant day so if you have a young family and fancy a seaside holiday in Devon I would recommend Teignmouth. Hope you like the photos.

Little Dragons cards

Yes, my two little dragons - 5 and 2 - made a birthday card yesterday for their friend Jack. I did the cutting out for littlest dragon and she stuck everything on - except the boingy bit for the astronaut. She would insist on having a Dolphin and a Whale in space! Eldest dragon did her own cutting out and added three aliens on the moon and drew Mars herself. I did the boingy bits on the rocket and Happy Birthday under her strict instructions of course. The bits were from the Crafters Companion Boys & Girls CD Rom.
Not bad for their age I thought.

A very proud Mummy Dragonlady!!

Charisma Cardz and Colour Create Challenges.

Hi everyone on another wet windy day in AUGUST!!!!!!

My card today is something slightly different, I haven't used traditional christmas colours on my image. I have used the sketch from Charisma Cardz as shown below.

Then I have used the colours in the Colour Create Challenge of pink, orange and green.
The papers I used were from the Artylicious CD rom 'Seasons Greetings' and the images are from the Fairy Doodles Christmas range from Buzzcraft. I coloured the fairy in using water colour pencils and then I glittered the snow and her trim with crystal glitter and her wings with pink glitter.

I hope you like this card. I have done a close up of the main image to show up the glitter better.

A Spoon Full of Sugar, Cute Card Thursday and One Stop Craft Challenge card.

Well, what a day I have had today with the children. Visiting Granny in the morning, our Sunday ritual. Then playing in the park. Then No 1 dragon went to a Birthday party and actually let me go home - it was the first time (she is just 5)- and of course everything was fine. She even volunteered to help with one of the magic tricks!!! Dad took No 2 dragon for a walk around a local nature reserve - some spooky woods - which she loved. That meant I had some unexpected time to craft, so I put the finishing touches to this card.

Firstly, I followed the sketch at A Spoon Full of Sugar copy of which is below.

I then used inspiration from the other two challenges to help me come up with a card. I hadn't intended to do the Fruity challenge from Cute Card Thursday until I came across some free downloads from Tinker & Co specifically the Strawberry Sundae motifs. So I put the designs on some silver miricard and teamed them up with some swirly paper from one Of Glenda Waterworths CDRoms - Seasons Greetings. The sentiment is just a straight forward Happy Birthday chalked with a matching colour. The flowers are from the Polka Doodles Sugar Birdies Cd Rom and on top I have added other flowers with a pearl in the middle thus satisfying the final challenge - Swirls and pearls from One Stop Craft Challenge .
I have also suddenly realised how to link the challenge to the word in my blog - you know when a light bulb goes on over someones head- instead of typing out the blog address. I can be a bit slow sometimes.

Look forward to reading your comments.

Polka Doodles and Cupcake Craft Challenges.

Good afternoon all
Just as I start this post the sun has come out and boy is it warm when it does.

Today I have used the sketch from Polka Doodles (http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/ ) as seen below.

Then I used some of the images from the Polka Doodles sugar birdies CD rom I have just received to include animals and flowers for the Cup Cake Craft Challenge (http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/ ). Also as part of this challenge you had to use brown, green and pink.
I have taken two photos as the colours are quite pale and don't show up very well.
Hope you like it and as ever comments are appreciated. I am nearly up to 1000 hits after 3 weeks blogging, I think thats quite good. Thanks to everyone for their interest.

Five challenges in one this time...

.....will I never learn to take things easy!!!!

Right then here goes, the first challenge was Papertake Weekly (http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ ) where I followed their sketch as shown below.

I then followed the ingredients from the following:-

Animals and Fibres at Doodle Palace (http://doodlepalace.blogspot.com/ ).

Friendship at Cute Daisy May Challenge (http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.com/ ).

Yellow as your main colour from ABC Challenge (http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ ).

Finally, BLING for example pearls, gems, glitter or diamonds from Creative Inspirations (http://creativeinspirationschallenge.blogspot.com/ ).

Phew!! My card therefore includes a rabbit, butterfly and bee who are all great friends with the fairy who has glittery wings. The flowers are both gems and the picture is mounted on yellow glitter card. The stamp is a woodware clear stamp. The picture was also coloured with Sakura stardust gel pens. The fibres are down either side of the image.
I have included a close up of the main image because my camera has not shown it terribly well

I think that just about covers it. As alway comments are gratefully received.

Saturday Challenge, Sketch Saturday and Stamp Something Challenges

Good morning all on a miserable day in Devon.

My card today fulfils three challenges and I had a little help from my 5 year old choosing the buttons.

Firstly, Saturday Challenge was to include 3 buttons, 2 design papers and a ribbon. The buttons are the flowers which are on top of the white silk ribbon and the two design papers are from red Hot Bed.

Secondly, Sketch Saturday is to follow the sketch below, which I really liked.

Thirdly, Stamp Something's challenge was to stamp a bug, butterfly or other winged thing. I therefore, found my beautiful Kay Carley stamp of a dragonfly and coloured in the Kay Carley way with my trusty Sakura stardust gel pens. The sentiment is also one of Kays. The dragonfly and sentiment have been mounted on pink glitter card as has the whole card.

I am really pleased with the result and hope you like it too.
