Guest DT card for Sparkle

Isn't it wonderful to be asked to be a Guest Designer - it really makes you feel wanted and appreciated. So when Steph who is the DT co-ordinator at Christmas Card Challenges asked me back in July if I would be a Guest Designer I was soooooooooo pleased and did not hesitate to say yes. Then to make things even more exciting Sparkle sent me one of her gorgeous stamps to use - Caroling Josh - so without further ado here is the card I made for this weeks challenge which is to use Candy Cane on your creation.

I coloured the image with Promarkers - I am still practising with the shading and can never get it to match up to some of the fantastic creations I see in blogland. Here is a closeup.............

I have used Spellbinders Labels Seven and Create A Flake 1 - I love the effect with glitter card. Also I added a little charm from Trinkettes and attached it to my sentiment which is from a Crafters Companion Cute Companions set Glad Tidings. Here is another closeup for you..............

The papers were from a Craft Magazine as a freebie and are by Nitwit.

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:-

Fussy and Fancy Friday - Winter Wonderland,

Creative Cottage - Embossing,

Simon Says Challenge - Punch em!(Punches and die cuts),

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Let's get punchy (die cuts or punches) and

Papertake Weekly - Sparkly and bright.

Hope you like it - let me know.

Last one Honest!!!!

Funny - I said the same thing last year after making quite a few Halloween cards. I must apologise because this will have to be a quick post - I have missed one challenge - Sketch Saturday - and I don't want to miss anymore and No 1 Dragonlette has a party to go to!!
A bit more subtle this one and not as obviously Halloween because Witch Tilda with small pumkins has a thanksgiving type hat - does that make sense?

Here is a closeup......

She is coloured with watercolour crayons and gold pen for the buckle and her hair bows. There is a little bit of glitter on her lace and on the fabulous orange flowers.

Onto the challenges I am entering:-

Totally Tilda - Halloween Challenge,

Pixie Dust Studio - Halloween and include Orange and black,

Papercaft Star - Photo Inspiration (I took the orange and green and pumpkin,

Simon Says Challenge - Punch and die cuts,

Crafty Creations - Halloween or perhaps Autumn,

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Something spooky,

Corrosive Challenge - Halloween or Orange and Black,

All That Scraps - Magnolia Challenge Fall with a fold,

Thank you for popping by and don't forget to say hello. Have a great weekend.

Aud Sentiments Challenge #14

Hi everyone, it was lovely to see your baby projects so please pop over to Aud Sentiments to see who won. So on with some more fun as this fortnight we would like you to use the word "Thanks" in your sentiment.
Our sponsor is .......(drum roll) .....Meljens whose designs are now here at Whimsy Stamps.

The team were lucky enough to pick a few to use - I chose Cat and Mouse and here they are!

I find the images so easy to colour and always turn out well. Here is a close up.........................

I used Promarkers to colour them in and a clean and simple sketch - for me anyway. The embossed background is on white glitter card and I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I used the Spellbinders nestabilities Large and Small Labels. To be honest I don't know how I survived without my Cuttlebug and the Spellbinders Nesties - best thing I ever did!!! I made the sentiment and was thinking of the song which came to mind when seeing this image.
I would love it if you checked out my team mates blogs for some more inspiration, their links are on my sidebar to the left.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:-

So do you think I like Halloween or is it just the stamps!!!! I was determined to use these this year - I ordered them last year as part of a win at Simon Says Stamp but they didn't arrive in time for Halloween then. They are the House Mouse Halloween set. I have coloured the three mice with watercolour crayons. The sentiment is from a more recent purchase from ebay but SSS has them in stock - Inkadinkadoo All Hallows Eve. I separated the sentiment and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz distress inks - Scattered Straw and Tea Dye. Here is a closup........................

Spookylicious

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all OK. Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made suggestions about dealing with a 4 year old who won't sleep through.  She is getting slowly better and I know in time all will be well.

I found a fabulous place for papers and she is giving away the ones I used in my card - Bearly Mine Designs - you must check it out.

I have used the shown below from Sketch Saturday..................

...................and here is a closeup of my card............

The image of the witch, the two bats and the small tag sentiment are from Penny Black. I have used water colour crayons for the main image and TH Distress Ink - Black Soot for the bats.

The "Spookylicious" sentiment is from an Inkadinkadoo set. It has been cut out with my deckle edge scissors and inked around th eedges with TH Distress Inks - Tea Dye and Scattered Straw as has the tag. I have added fibres to the tag in purple, orange and green. The buttons are from the Papermania Capsule collection.

Summertime Designs "A kit for Easton"

I have been a big fan of Summer Driggs for nearly a year now, she makes fantastic kits and just gives them away.
Her latest kit however, is something a bit special and very touching. The picture is of a dearly cherished child called Easton - he has had a rough first few months of his life and it is not over yet. His family have been to hell and back having recently lost Eastons brother.

Summer has designed the kit to help raise money for the family as the debts are rising and unfortunately the USA doesn't have anything like the NHS - we are so lucky here in the UK.

So please have a look at the kit here and if you can leave a donation - every little bit helps.

Thank you for reading this.

HALLOWEEN COLOURS .... so it doesn't have to be a Halloween card - STAMPS ONLY REMEMBER!!

Here is my card.........................

...........and the closeup...........

Now I must say that I have taken some inspiration from a fellow crafter with the colouring. She is called Phree and her blog is Ink Stain Suirvivor some of you may know her as she does WOYWDW. When I purchased the Spookylicious set from Elusive Images I got a few inspiration leaflets too and one of Phree's cards was there. I have nowhere near matched her example but I thought the effect with the green surrounding the house was really spooky. The spider paper was torn from a book and distressed to within an inch of its life!!!! Glimmer mist and Distress inks and scrunching up and tearing were involved and I loved it!!

Please visit my team mates and get some more inspiration their links are on my sidebar. I would also like to wish a warm welcome to our new team mates - Benedicte, Joanna and Shirley.
