Kellie Winnell, Daring Cardmakers, Stamp Something and One Stop Craft Challenges.

The observant amongst you will be saying but I thought she was on holiday? Well, I will be tomorrow but I lied I hadn't done my last post! See told you I was addicted!!!
I had to enter the challenge at Kellie Winnell's blog because the winner gets these!!!!
I love the motivet stamps. The sketch to use is shown below.

I have also entered this card in the Birthday and Anniversary themes at Stamp Something and Daring Cardmakers. Finally, I am entering the Fairy or Angel theme at One Stop Craft Challenge with the Fairy Doodles character.
The papers are from Scrapbookingmad and Funkyfairy Inspiration Blog and the flowers are from the Sugar Birdies CD Rom found at Polka Doodles.
I promise this is my last post before the off early tomorrow. I look forward to reading all your lovely comments.

Funky Fairys, Simon Says, Papertake Weekly, Creative Card Crew and ABC Challenge.

My aim is for this to be my last card for a week or so because we are off to La Belle France. I do not know how I will manage without you all!!

I felt like doing another Christmas Card and there are two challenges for "Christmas In August" at Simon Says Challenges and Creative Card Crew.
I also liked the look of the sketch at Funky Fairys which is shown below.

You also have to include some Funky Fairy product. I used the papers from the Purple Christmas Collection that can be found at Funky Fairy Inspiration Blog on the right hand side.

The fairy image I used is a Fairy Doodles from Buzzcraft, which I bought from Sharon Duncan Crafts. I coloured it with watercolour pencils and added crystal glitter to the hat and coat. For the wings I used Glitz it glitter glue purchased from my local DoCrafts stockist - Trago Mills (near Newton Abbot). I used purple sparkle in the middle and light purple around the edges. I then layered the image on a scalloped shape of purple glitter card. Yes, it is my favourite colour!!!! I put some purple buttons from my stash in the right hand corner. The snowflakes were punched out of white glitter card using an Xcut punch. The ribbon is Anitas Everyday ribbon in a gorgeous purple polka dot design. Then I added a Nancy Watt bow i.e. tied a knot instead of a bow!! (For those of you who don't know Nancy Watt she guests on Create and Craft). I have therefore covered the challenge at ABC Challenge which is B for.......Buttons. The challenge at Papertake Weekly is their 100th and so they have allowed you to pick from all the other 99 challenges. I have chosen the one from 3/11/08 which was Simply Sparkling - My glitter card!!

And there we have it.
I would love to receive comments about my card. I look forward to reading them on my return - unless I can get on a computer out there!!!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp, The Pink Elephant, Cute Card Thursday, Charisma Cardz and C.R.A.F.T Challenges.

Wow did I lose my mojo this morning - the awards are going to my head!!!! I have torn this card up and started again twice. However, there were so many "Summer" themes out there I just had to join in. I had the ideal stamp from Cute Companions - "Sun & Fun" of a mouse in a deck chair that I wanted to use.

Anyway I persevered then put together a piece of storage furniture for Dragon No 1 - she helped too. I then had an idea and grabbed my computer and opened My Craft Studio (I seem to be using this a lot more now I am entering challenges). I had been having trouble with the swirls required in the sketch in Sunday Sketch & Stamp shown below.

I do not have any die cutting machines mainly coz I can't decide which one to get and they are one of the more expensive items I will have to buy. I have seen the gorgeous swirly folders on a programme with Sheena Douglas, and also the nestabilities - these are on my wishlist!!

I digress, I used MCS to put a swirl on a Funky Hand paper from the Funky Seasons CD Rom. The pink circle is also from MCS and has a faded edge then I put a ribbon at the bottom as I didn't have a green one!! (oh poor me). The stamp of the mouse was coloured using watercolour pencils and Whispers Strokes pens. The shells at the bottom are from the same set along wit h the sentiment.

The Summer theme challenges this card is for are at The Pink Elephant, C.R.A.F.T Challenge and Cute Card Thursday. The colour combination was from the challenge at Charisma Cardz and is Lemon, Green and Pink.
I hope you like my card and as ever the comments are really welcome.

Another day, another win and another award!

I have to say that this must be one of my luckiest weeks ever. I am not known for my luck so my cup runneth over at the moment. Firstly, I had another challenge win at Tuesday Taggers for my Birds and Bees card. I win a Crafty Individuals stamp, and a Guest Designer spot. Me a Guest Designer - never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen when I started this blogging game!!!!!
Then Lyn over at Spyders Corner has awarded me the Bambi award - fabulous Lyn, thank you so much. Isn't he cute.

Now I have pleasure in passing this award on to some lovely people.

1. My best crafting mate ever, who is the most supportive, caring and wonderful person I know. Dawn

2. To Liz to say sorry for being a guest designer first and don't be in too much of a huff!! I'm not a DT member yet!! Also to say thanks for the award she sent me.

3. Finally, but my no means least another supportive crafter to say thanks for all your comments, Clare.

Please have a peep at their blogs.

Sketch Saturday, Lots to do, La La Land Crafts, One Stop Craft Challenge and Cupcake Craft Challenge

Well here I am again and I haven't done any stamping but a bit of sticking and decoupage. I decided to enter the Birthday challenge at Cupcake Crafts which is something sweet and as an optional extra add a cupcake. I had the perfect image in a new CD I have from Polka Doodles called Candy Doodles. I then thought of the challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge which is the colours Pink and Black.

I used the sketch at Sketch Saturday which is shown below.

The only piece that doesn't come from the Candy Doodles CD is the large flower in the background with writing on. This is from another Polka Doodles CD called Sugar Birdies, and was enlarged and its colour was changed in My Craft Studio

The above photos show some of the depth I was able to get plus that the cupcake is frosted!!! I have put on a few flowers so I think this card is good for the First challenge at La La Land Crafts Blog , which is Flower Power. There is also a free theme over at Lots to do so added this for good measure!!!! The background paper is very pale pink and doesn't show up terribly well in my photos.

I am now going to enter the other challenge at Cupcake Crafts bit of a blog hop.

Cute Daisy May, Digital Tuesday and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenges

This is my first venture in to completely digital card making. I didn't have to stick anything - no mess! No sketch either for this one. I recently bought some downloads from Scrapbookingmad (link on sidebar) all about - Halloween. When I was looking through them I saw the "Beware" banner and instantly thought of the challenge at Cute Daisy May where the sentiment/word is the focal point of the card.
Anyway, using My Craft Studio I positioned the images on the screen. I also used a backing paper and frame from Summer Driggs, Halloween download. This is a great site called Summertime Designs where there are lots of digital kits. All Summer asks is for a small donation.

For a bit more fun I put some bats and spiders in the corners, which spookly enough fits the challenge at Saturday Challenge, which is fancy corners.

My final challenge is the one at Digital Tuesday where they would like a male card, for any age and use a digital image - I think this qualifies!!!

Well fingers crossed and look forward to your thoughts on this card.

My first challenge win.

This is just a quick thanks to those at Sketch and Stash for chosing me as a winner to challenge number 16. My very first challenge win. As such I am now the proud owner of these Pollycraft images. The Margo images can be found here.

I just need to find the right challenge to use them in!!

C.R.A.F.T Sketch, Colour Create and Pollycraft Monday Challenges.

Hi everyone
Just like to say thanks for all the comments I am receiving it really is lovely. It makes this all worthwhile.
My next card is using the sketch from C.R.A.F.T Sketch shown below.

I had a set of stamps from Perfectly Clear called "Kitty Silhouettes" which can be found at Handy Hippo. I hadn't used them much but I felt they were ideal for a set of three images.

I also followed the colour scheme at the Colour Create Challenge Blog which is Blue, sand, silver and Black. The card is black glitter card, the background paper is from Scrapbookingmad (link on my sidebar) and is blue with yellow spots. The ribbon is from smirk and is yellow/sand polka dots. The black glitter card has silvery sparkles in it. The images and sentiment are edged with yellow chalk.
Finally, I have used two of my favourite things, glitter card and cat images - I love cats of all shapes and sizes. This is the challenge at Pollycraft Monday to use some of your "Favourite things" in your card.
I hope you like this card and I look forward to reading your thoughts as ever.

Get Sketchy and Alphabet Challenges

Good evening all. Only two challenges tonight so short and sweet. The sketch I have used is from the new Challenge Blog at Get Sketchy. I would just like to say "Good Luck" to Bree and her DT on their new venture. Their first sketch is lovely and shown below.

I have combined the sketch with the challenge at the Alphabet Challenge Blog which is U for...... and in my case it is Umbrella. This is another of Dustin Pike's freebies, which I loved. By the way I have bought some of his images too - they are great and very reasonably priced.
I coloured him in with watercolour pencils and some glitter on his wings. I then mounted the image on black card and gold miri card. The papers were freebies from a craft magazine but I can't remember which one (Sorry). The white shaped piece is from the Candy Doodles CD Rom from Polka Doodles. Headsup for those who love the CDs there is a show on Create & Craft tomorrow at 9am with the new Christmas CD Rom - Jingle Jangle Christmas - it looks fab. The flowers were from Just Pots Funky flowers and a mixture of pink (Thanks again Liz) & purple.

Well that's all folks - past my bedtime but wanted to get this on.

Night night.

Digital Tuesday, Funky Fairy, Rainbow Lady and ABC Challenges.

After my wonderful award I decided it was time I made my Dragon card for the challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog. I used the sketch from Digital Tuesday shown below.
As luck would have it Dustin Pike has just released a great freebie called "Helping Hand" which is perfect.
Having chosen the Christmas digi stamp I therefore decided to enter the challenge at Funky Fairy's which is "Christmas", and you must use some of their papers. I have used some papers I found on the Funky Fairy's Inspiration site, the freebies are on the sidebar. I used one from Blue Christmas and one from the purple set. I also used a Smirk ribbon slider for my sentiment which is on some purple polka dot ribbon by Smirk.

I then coloured the image in with watercolour pencils and mounted it on black glitter card. Unfortunately, even in the close up you can't see the colouring as well as I would like.

I am also entering this card into the ABC Challenge which is "A is for ...... Anything Goes" with an optional extra of Animals.

Comments are always welcome. Thanks

Guess what........I've been given an award!!!!!

Delightful Sketches, Tuesday Taggers, and Crafty Creations Challenges

Hi everyone, not quite so ambitious today. As ever I will start with the sketch I used, it is from Delightful Sketchers and is shown below.

I liked the sound of the challenge at Tuesday Taggers, The Birds and the Bees and had a freebie download from Pollycraft Designs of some love birds, which I thought would be perfect. I then added some bees - all coloured in with watercolours crayons. I chose the colours around the card - Yellow - according to the challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.
The backing card is my favourite yellow glitter card. The two strips of patterned paper are mounted on gold miri card. The top one is a freebie from Funky Fairys Papercraft ( see their sidebar) called Doodlementals add on pack 1. Along the side bar I have used a Papercraft Inspirations freebie from issue 64. The ribbon was bought today on a trip to The Range in Exeter, with Little Dragon No 1. She was allowed to buy five things - Bright orange glitter paint, some ribbon, a squidgy toy!!?, Copper foil engraving kit and a windchime. Quite eclectic tastes for a five year old!! Anyway I bought loads of ribbon by Smirk and one of them was yellow to finish off my card. I could have spent a lot more but a Happy meal was calling!!
The scallop frame is from the Sugar Birdies CDRom as was the sentiment, topped with a yellow button from my stash.
I look forward to everyones comments.

Sketch Saturday, Caardvarks, My Time to Craft, Pile it On, Creative Inspirations and the Alphabet Challenges

Yes, I am back after a lovely hot day yesterday. This card was inspired firstly by the Pile It On Challenge of using no patterned paper. I then found a sketch I wanted to use which is from Sketch Saturday and is shown below.
I also wanted to do a Christmas themed card to enter the My Time to Craft Challenge . There is also a Winter Wonderland theme at Caardvarks.
I have mounted the Dustin Pike image of Father Christmas on gold miri card and then a red tag. The challenge at Creative Inspirations is Tags and at The Alphabet Challenge Blog it is T for .... so I thought this could be Tag too.
I have added some snowflakes with tiny red gems see below.

The three bars at the side are some sort of gold hessian type material.

The little sentiment tag is from the My Craft Studio "Magical Christmas" CD Rom.
I am always grateful for all comments they help me carry on.
Thanks
Dragonlady

Cupcake Craft, Pink Elephant, Pollycraft, Crafty Creations, Simon's Stamps and Penny's Challenges

Yes, another post on the same day - well I had to make up for not doing anything yesterday.
The sketch for this card is from Cupcake Craft Challenges which is shown below. This challenge also includes some colours - Turqouise and Brown.
These are colours I would not normally use but like, so again I am being taken out of my comfort zone. The same colours are in the challenge at The Pink Elephant so I am entering this challenge too.
My card includes three buttons and a bow which means it satisfies the challenges at Pollycraft Challenge Blog, Penny's Challenge, Crafty Creations and Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
The cat image is from Clear Magic Lazy Days set along with the words at the top. The papers are from Funky Hand CD Rom "Now That's Funky". Plus also some pearl brown card, buttons and a bow from my stash. The oval shape is from the Sugar Birdies CD rom (which you can buy here) with some blue chalk over it to make it blend in better.
I think that just about covers it, all comments gratefully received as ever.

Truly Scrumptious, Funky Fairies, Rainbow Lady, and Allsorts Challenges.

Well, I had a lovely rest from crafting yesterday because we went to the beach. It was lovely with a nice sea breeze to keep us cool. I even got sunburnt although I had factor 40 on like the children!!!!
So now its back to crafting today. The children have done some painting, some of which was actually on the paper!!!!
My sketch for this card is from Truly Scrumptious a copy of which is below.

I then chose the "Black & White" theme from Funky Fairies plus you had to use at least one of their papers. I used a couple for the pieces underneath the image from their freebies which can be found at Funky Fairies Inspirations in the sidebar. The colours were adjusted by My CraftStudio. The image I used was also from MCS "Magic of Christmas" CD rom and is appropriate for the vintage theme at Allsorts Challenge Blog. Finally, as the little girl is hanging up a stocking I thought this would be OK for the S is for..... challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog.
I hope you like the card, there is plenty of glitter card and some nice embellishments too. The sentiment came from the Sugar Birdies CD Rom.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp, Papertake Weekly, Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and Paperplay Challenges.

Another lovely day here in Devon but I have still managed to make another card.

As always I shall start with the sketch I used which is from Sunday Sketch & Stamp and is shown below.
I then thought about a theme and I liked the sound of "All Creatures Great & Small" from
Paperplay Challenges. I found some Clear Magic stamps called "Lazy Days" which I bought from Handy Hippo. One of the cats was running around with bees and a butterfly which also made me think of the challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, "Cute as a Bug". I also used a backing paper with bees and ladybirds on from the "Triple Treasures" CD Rom from Create & Craft.

Whilst I was putting the card together I realised it was a rather Summery picture so I will also enter the Papertake Weekly Challenge of "Four Seasons" - use a colour scheme or things that remind you of a season.

I coloured my cat in with Caran D'Ache water pencils and added some glitter to the bees wings and the clouds. I then mounted him on yellow glitter card. The ribbons at the bottom are some of Anita's Sticky ribbons. The sentiment is from the same Clear Magic set as the cat, stamped on some of the background paper. There is a yellow button in the top right from my stash (can't remember where from) and the flower is from Just Pots Funky Flowers which I one recently in a Blog Candy from Buttons for Brains - by the way she has just won a challenge and got a blog makeover as a prize!!
Hope you like my card and look forward to reading your comments - they really help you know.
