Card and some sad news

This was to be my next DT card for Digital-Ink Co but Judy has found it necessary to close the operation down - there are some really sad people out there!! I was pleased as punch to have been asked to join and work the fantastic images and designers. I wish Judy and all the creators and designers all the best and lets hope we can stay in touch.
I have used the sketch at Papertake Weekly which is shown below. There is a fab prize there too - $25 from Simon Says Stamp no less.

The image I have used is by Stitchy Stamps and called Butterfly Love. I have coloured her with my Inktense watercolour crayons and added a generous dollop of glitter in various shades of pink, purple and crystal!!! The background is a cuttlebug folder called Perfect Paisley which I have chalked over with bright pink chalk.

The frame is a Spellbinders Frameabilities called Classic Frames. I used pink pearlised card so the embossing would show up nicely. I have then used some patterened papers the dark pink one is from Triple Treasures Cd from Create and Craft and the large dots one is a Funky Fairys paper. I have layered both of these onto what I have used as kraft - it is actually the inside of some rolls of wrapping paper!!! Everything has been distressed and inked where possible and in the case of the Whitewash Core'dinations card sanded as well.

However, the thing I am most pleased with is the flower which used to be on my daughters hairband until she snapped it!!!!! It is made of pale pink organza ribbon with gold edging and has three pearls in the middle.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges

I love Digis - Their first challenge which is Pink,

My Time To Craft - In the Frame,

Quirky Crafts - Cute(well I think the fairy is cute),
Rosie D's Challenge - Friendship ( I have made this card for a friend),

Flutterby Wednesday - Open theme but must include a butterfly, angel or Fairy,

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Pearls,

KLSNS Challenge Blog - Going Green - use something you would have thrown away,

Lexi's Creations - Anything Goes and,

Corrosive Challenge Blog - Things with Wings,

Well I'm off to try to find another DT Call!!!!

First DT card for Digital Ink Company Challenge #17

Yeh we are finally here my first DT card which is for the new challenge at the Digital-Ink Co, you need to create a tag, layout, card or project showing your interpretation of PEACE - a feeling, piece of cake, what gives you peace or world peace - whatever you want to do with PeaceThe sponsors this week - yes you read it right, we are now a weekly challenge - are Paper Wishes

2nd Place Winner receives 2 stamps

3rd Place Winner receives 1 stamp.

Here are the rules to follow:

1. You must post the image of the prizes on your blog/website with a link to our blog. Here is a small image for you to use for your side bar.

2. Be a follower (if you are not already)

3. Sign the “Mister Linky”, so that we can stop by and leave you lots of love. We love to do this!!!!!

You may enter any of our challenges as many times as you like, as long as the challenge piece is different. Of course, the more you enter, the more times you are entered into our drawings. We always love to see when Digital-ink Co. stamps are used in our challenges, so if you use one of our stamps, you’ll automatically be entered into the drawing twice!! Isn't that cool?

The challenge runs from February 22nd to February 28th at 8am EST and the winner will be announced along with our next challenge on March 1st.

Now onto my card - I have used the Dragonfly Flower image by Beary Dust Stamps which is shown below,

and is only $1.50 what fabulous value. This high quality stamp is in Jpeg, Png & Tiff format. They are 300Dpi perfect for printing. Add these to your paper products for a bit of whimsy and maybe a bit of Beary Dust will fall on you for luck!

I coloured mine with Promarkers on the flower and then used glitter on the Dragonfly wings and H2Os for the body. I put the image in a globe from the new My Craft Studio CD Rom (can't find it anywhere!) Cardmakers Library Vol 1 plus a background paper from the same CD.

The words were done in MS Word using a free font called The King and Queen and mounted on to some Core'dinations card stock which has been distressed. I also inked around the edges of the white paper with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. The central piece is also Core'dinations cardstock - I have distressed this using my Tim Holtz Distressing tool. I used the sketch at Carol's Sketch Fun shown below.

So as you all know I like to join in with other challenges and DT cards are no exception.
I will also enter this card in the challenge at Creative Belli Challenge where they want Dragonflies/Butterflies, ABC Challenge - O is for one paper,  Practical Scrappers where you can use any type of stamp and, The Corrosive Challenge - Things with wings.

So what are you waiting for? Check out the other cards from the DT at the Digital-Ink Co - I am proud to be a member of such a talented group. I would love to see what you come up with.

A Shy Surprise

Happy Sunday afternoon to you -- yeh we won a Gold medal at the Winter Olympics - well done Amy Williams in the Skeleton Bob. Sorry it doesn't happen often for the British to get a medal at the Winter Olympics - we don't get much snow - ha ha ha!!!!
Anyway the title of my post is the name of this cute Penny Black stamp I acquired recently from Caroline who was having a clear out. You can find him here. I have used the sketch at Stamp With Fun shown below.

The challenge at Penny Black Saturday is a colour combination - pink, green and yellow.

I have coloured the image with my trusty water colour crayons and then mounted him on a Spellbinders Large and Small Label. I have inked around the edge with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint, I have also used this on the edge of the green paper - a Funky Fairys kit as is the pink paper. I have distressed all the paper with my Tim Holtz Distressing Tool. The buttons and fibre are from my stash and I made the flowers using a couple

of punches and a tiny button in the middle. The lace is from my stash. I have also used a gold gel pen to draw in the stitches. The bow was hand made from ribbon in my stash.

I will also enter this card in the following challenges :-

Saturday Spotlight - Doing the mess around (Distressing),

Lots To Do - Use a machine (I used my Cuttlebug),
Totally Papercrafts - Lots of spots,

Your Next Stamp - Spring colours,

Happy Birthday to Ewe!

This is a card I have made for a very good friend. We used to go to College together and have managed to stay in touch for the next 23 years - gosh is it really that long???!!!!! She has two young girls as well so we still have plenty in common but hardly ever see each other. I hope she likes it.
I have used the Back to Nature CD Rom from Polka Doodles - the cute sheep. This is all 3D but my photos are unable to do it justice as usual! I have also glittered the flowers as I hope you can see here.

There was a lot of cutting out and there are some fiddly bits - like the sheeps curls but I couldn't cut any closer I'm afraid.

Despite the fact that I didn't check the challenges when I was making this card it does fit quite a few and here they are

Penny's Paper Challenge - Birthday,

Crafty Creations - Stitching (faux or real),

Tellen's Place - Birthday,

Artful Inkables - Naughty/Nice (I thought this was pretty cheeky but nice!)

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Spring time,

Paper Sundaes Glittery Spring,

One Stitch At a Time - Stitching (faux or real) - This is their first challenge so check them out.

Pile It On - Flowers, and

Bee Crafty Challenge - Stitching (faux or real plus digi).

Please let me know what you think. I really appreciate your thoughts.

I love my Ladybird (Ladybug) Tilda

Good evening everyone and Happy Valentines day to you. I just had to use this gorgeous Tilda Stamp (which I never want to give away!) in the UK she is a Ladybird and in the USA a Ladybug - I don't care which though I love her. Gushing over now down to the nitty gritty.

I coloured her using my watercolour pencils then framed her with an offcut from a nestie label - done in black glitter card. She is also glittered - black glitter dots, crystal glitter around the hearts and red glitter for the ribbon. Yep, I do like glitter!!!! I have put some gem hearts on the frame and a Ladybird button - it just needed another embellishment!! Nearly forgot to say the ticket is a freebie from Miss Cutie Pie.

The ribbon at the side is black velvet then I have attached some flower beads on to red ribbon and put that over the black velvet ribbon - make sense?

I have used the sketch at Midnight Madness shown below - there was a choice of two.

Now for the epic journey around all the other challenges I am going to enter this card in!!!!!

The Pink Elephant - Valentine,

Creative Inspirations - Red and Black,

Tuesday Taggers - Love is all Around,

Everybody Art Challenge - Valentine,

Nephews Birthday Card

Hi everyone, it's my nephew Joe's 13th birthday on Valentines day and this is the card I did for him.
I don't think I do male cards very well and I am not entirely happy with this one - not enough Pink!!!!
Anyway I followed the sketch at Paper Sundaes shown below.

See told you there isn't enough Pink!!! The background paper is from a Creat and Craft Cd Triple Treasures. The blue papers are are from Funky Fairies and Core'dinations. The tag is from a Summer Driggs kit called Happiness and the sentiment was a freebie from Funky Hand. I have distressed most of the papers with my Tim Holtz distresser and ink. The image is from Dustin Pike and is coloured with my watercolour pencils. Oh and the name was made with some freebie letters.

I will also enter this card in the following challenges
