Summer Birthday

It was my eldest little Dragonlettes 6th Birthday yesterday and this was the card I made for her.  I used the Polka Doodles CD Rom - Paper Boutique - for the cake and background papers. It took a while to put together - cutting out then glittering but got there in the end.

The wonky view showing the glitter, the number 6 is also glittered and of course there is an inside too....

..................her face lit up when she saw it.

It was a pretty hectic day yesterday with a party, then off to visit Granny then Aunty for another pressie all topped off with Swimming club!!!!
Oh and some other news - she wanted to ride her bike without stabilisers before her 6th birthday - yes she succeeded - last Friday!!!!

Anyway I have a few challenges I would like to enter with this card.....

Paper Sundaes - Birthday Card,
Rosie D's Challenge - Summer Birthday,

Saturday Challenge - Strawberries and cream (hopefully my colours satisfy this?),

Crafty Catz Challenge - Let's Go Digital,

Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes,

Crafts and Me Challenge - Birthdays,

Crafty Creations Challenge - Shine/Glitter and,

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Pinkalicious.

Happy Monday to you all and I look forward to reading what you have to say.

Cupcake Tilda

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY LATEST DT POSTS

So here is Tilda In the Garden - I did think of entering the Just Magnolia challenge but I think they meant the card should have a garden theme - shame!!! Now I have checked out the site - it does mention flowers and I have flowers so I will enter it there. Anyway, she, that is Kitchen Tilda (link to Crafts U Love which has free P & P because England won!! until 27/6) has been coloured using my faithful water colour crayons.

And for the closeup..........

The papers and cupcake are from the Summer Driggs Sweet Cakes kit I have embossed the bottom square with my Polka Dots folder and then 3D'd the cake. The ribbon is one of Anita's and the sentiment was written using the free font - Scriptina.

I have used the gorgeous sketch from Pixie Cottage here..............

...............there is an added option of decorating the inside but I just decided to take a picture outdoors instead!!!

The other challenges I am entering are.............

Thank you for the fantastic creations we received for our Anything but a card theme and congratulations to the winner. Now for this fortnight we would like you to use embossing on your card and of course something digi let your creativity go wild!!
Our sponsor this time is Bee Crafty and the winner will receive three images of their choice.

I have used an image I purchased some time ago called Flying Lessons.............

and here is the closeup..........

I have cheated because the image comes in a coloured version but I was feeling lazy!!!! I have used some nice bright card in yellow and orange (very summery I thought) which has been covered with gold glitter spray as has the black background. The fibres have been tied into a bow with difficulty but I persevered!!!!! The embossed squares were done using my cuttlebug folders Birds and Swirls and Divine swirls. I have also chalked around the edges of the card and the die cut circle.

Now check out my teamies creations for some more inspiration............

Aud Sentiments Challenge #5 "Love"

Yes you've guessed it another fortnight has passed and we are on to our fifth challenge at Aud Sentiments. Firstly, I must say thank you to everyone who took part in our last challenge "Hello Friend" again the competition was fierce and we all found choosing our top 4 really difficult again- I'm sure you can do the same with this challenge.
This fortnight you must use the sentiment "Love" somewhere on your creation - whatever it may be.
Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Karen's Doodles and again the team were lucky enough to choose the image we wanted to use - I chose Princess Pony (a snip at $3) isn't she cute and of course she had to be coloured in pink!!!

and here is a closer view...........

......I used my Promarkers and some crystal glitter on the pony, cut the image out and mounted her onto a die cut - Spellbinder Labels One, from bright pink glitter card. The DPs are from a Crafters Companion CD Roms called Boys and Girls for the shaped piece and Flower Fairies (Rose and Lavender) for the main background piece.Which has been distressed and inked with a Tim Holtz distress ink, Tattered Rose.
The ribbon has been in my stash for ages and has no name - that I can find. It already had the butterfly on it but I added the pink heart gem and the three pink flower gems. The sentiment is from a stamp set by Crafters Companion - I think but I can't find which one, sorry. I stamped it onto a smaller die cut of the same shape as the big one and tucked it behind.
Now I would love it if you could visit my team mates blogs and see the wonderful creations they have come up with

Wendy

Happy Father's Day

As it's Fathers Day in the UK on Sunday I thought I would use my new purchase to make this. I have used images and papers from a CD Rom by Flower Soft called Happy Families. The images were just so cute I had to get it but I don't have any flower soft!!! Maybe that will have to wait, it is very effective but I have a long wishlist already!!....don't we all.

Here is a wonky view.............

......................which, stangley enough, looks better this way!

I used the sketch at Moving Along With the Times from Hazel...........
By the way I am typing this whilst England are playing Algeria and making hard work of it.........dare I say as usual!! I have turned over to watch something else because I have got to the point where I can't bare to watch. How sad is that.

Any how here are the other challenges I am entering with this card..............

Creative Inspirations, A Crafty Little Place, Cupcake Craft Challenge- all have the theme "One for the Boys",

Pear Tree Designs, Magical Crafts Fortnightly and Polka Doodles all have a Father's Day/Male theme and

Raise the Bar want to see something for "A Special Guy".

Come on England........................please!

What a cutie!

Finally, I have managed to make another card. Bit more serious this one as it is for my Aunty in law (is there such a thing?) who recently sufferred a minor stroke. She is back home now but she gave us all a shock - the worst part of it is we can't visit as she lives in California!!! She is such a sweet person and I have a lot of time for her. So the next best thing is to make a card. I use dthe sketch at Sketch and Stash shown below.................

and twisted a bit!!! The new stash is my new purchase Mouse in Nutboat by Tina Wenke. Now I didn't know he was supposed to be in a boat ... on water ..... so I coloured it all green!!!!!! DOH!!!! I used my Inktense water colour crayons - still my favourite colouring medium - the Promarkers are getting used more often now though.

Here is a close up ..............

I have used Core'dinations card for the matting and Bloom and Growpapers by My Minds Eye - that was a bit difficult for me - I like them too much!!!
The flowers are from Papermanias Capsule collection and the gem brads are from my stash along with the ribbon. I have distressed some of the papers and inked up the sides with Tim Holtz distress ink.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:-

Simon Says - Recipe 1 image, 2 DPs and 3 different embellishments,

Crafts and Me - Friends and family,

Fab'n'Funky Summer in colour,

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Bugs and Beasties,

Alphabet Challenge - G is for Green,

Quirky Crafts - Summer,

Forever Friends - Not Forever Friends, and,

Hugs Ali x

I Love Digi Challenge # 9 DT Creation!

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY AUD SENTIMENTS DT POST

I can't believe another fortnight has whizzed by and it is time for the 9th challenge at I Love Digi. Thank you for the fantastic cards we received for our Fathers Day Challenge and congratulations to the winner. Now for this fortnight we would like you to make Anything but a card with something digi let your creativity go wild!!

Our sponsor this time is Wink Wink Ink and you could win your choice of three digital images.

On to my DT creation for this challenge...............................

if you can't tell it's a door hanger. I made it with my daughter in mind - the 5 year old - hence the words I used on the tags.....................

.......................she is doing a lot of sulking at the moment!!! This next picture shows the mechanism - whoops the velcro isn't exactly central is it - a bit like me - wonky!!

I have used a basic door hanger made of chipboard - 35p from Trago Mills!!- and painted it with pale yellow acrylic paint. Then I stamped swirls all over in different shades of yellow and orange. The tags are from a Polka Doodles CD rom which I took into My Craft Studio to change the colours and add the words using a selection of freebie fonts which can be found at Fonts 4 Free. Also the flowers have been put together with pearl brads.
Now check out my teamies creations for some more inspiration............

............And finally a few challenges I would like to enter..............

Alphabet Challenge - F is for Flowers,

The Crafty Pad - Swirls and Pearls,

A Spoon Full Of Sugar - Floral delights,

Hugs

Aud Sentiments Challenge #4 "Hello Friend"

So guess what, another fortnight has passed and we are on to our fourth challenge at Aud Sentiments. Firstly, I must say thank you to everyone who took part in our last challenge "It's Your Day.........." the competition was fierce and we all found choosing our top 4 really difficult - I'm sure you can do the same with this challenge.
This fortnight please use the sentiment "Hello Friend" somewhere on your creation - whatever it may be.
Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Elisabeth AKA Soft Pencil who will be providing the winner with a voucher to spend in her shop. The team were lucky enough to be able to choose the image we wnated to work with - I chose Amy, Michu and Ratiny and here is my card..................

.................where is the sentiment I hear you ask..............

.............on the tag I hid behind the image.
The image is coloured with Promarkers and crystal glitter. The base card and matt is a pale yellow pearlised card. The embossed card is also pearlised which definately shows up the embossing better than normal card. The tag is one I changed in My Craft Studio and is from a Polka Doodles CD Rom. The fibres have been in my stash forever as have the gems and ribbon. The scalloped circle is from a Smirk paper pack I have had for a while but failed miserably in using!!!
I would love it if you checked out my teamies cards and creations too - more fab inspiration for you here.............
