New Year Flower

I had a bit of inspiration and using a freebie at Rusty Pickles Digital Delights I made this flower

and another view

I like it so much I have shown it twice!!!!!!
The background paper is from Funky Fairys where there is an amazing closing down sale - unfortunatley Shaz has decided to close her fab shop so pop over there as soon as you can to get some fab stuff at 50% off.
I coloured the leaves using my new prezzie - Inktense crayons - I am so pleased with them. I have used one of the sketches at The Pink Elephant as shown below -

The final touch was some glitter and a sentiment using a freebie from Miss Cutie Pie with an added peel off.

I have connected the leaves/petals together using a pearl brad. Also I have used my nestie, I am so pleased with this purchase.

I will also enter this card in the following challenges :-

The Little Paper Shop - Navy Blue, Pale Blue and Silver,

My Time to Craft - Anything Goes,

Penny's Challenge - monochramatic New Year and,

Lots To Do - Free theme.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

The Stamp Man Blog Hop and awards

There is currently a blog hop over at The Stamp Man which lasts until midnight on the 3rd January 2010. The prizes are amazing so don't miss out.
The other event happening here is an award which is given to you if you chose your favourite project of 2009. Well, I have only been doing this seriously since July so I only have half a year to look at but it wasn't an easy decision. However, I have chosen the word book I made for my darling little dragon, Emily on her third birthday.

It was also made for my first ever Guest Design spot at the Tuesday Taggers - for more info see the full post here.
I loved making this card and ended up gettig my first commission from it too!!!

Happy New Year!

Good evening everyone, I hope your mojo's have been given a well earned rest and are raring to go again.
I have made something other than a card today - a box for a wine bottle. The family have been invited to some good friends for New Years Eve so I thought this was the ideal opportunity to make something special for them.

I have used one of the templates from a MyCraft Studio CD Rom - A Classic Christmas. I have added a couple of fab freebies one from Dustin Pike Celebration Dragon and a ticket from Miss Cutie Pie and can be found here - thanks Jan for the tip. Here is a close up of the image which has been coloured using Promarkers and Sakura Stardust pens.

I put the dragon on using foam pads so he could peek over the ticket. I added the words and used a freebie font called Santa's Big Secret.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:-

Crafty Cardmakers - Favourites of the year - I have two since starting in July I have discovered digi images and Promarkers,

Cute Card Thursday - New Year,

Passion for Promarkers - Anything but a crad with a Christmas or New Year theme,

Simon Says Challenge - Party!!

Cupcake Crafts Chalenge - Time to celebrate,

Everybody Art Challenge - New Year,

Allsorts Challenge - Anything But a Card,

I do hope you all have a Wonderful New Year and you are as lucky as I have been meeting some fantastic, supportive and generous crafty people.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone and I hope Santa brought you everything you wished for. Now this is a quick Birthday card for a colleague at work. I have used the beautiful Elzybells stamps called Teddy Surprise which I won in Elizabeths count down to Christmas.

They have been coloured using my watercolour crayons and then mounted on pale yellow card. The gems and butterflies are from my stash as are the sentiment strips. I couldn't fit this set into a sketch so I chose the challenge at the Little Paper Shop - Keep it clean one layer card.

I will also enter this card in the following challenges :-

Lots To Do - Free theme,

Polka Doodles - Free theme,

Charisma Cardz - Anything but a Christmas card,

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Time for celebration,

Crafty Creations - No rules,

Flutterby Wednesday - Butterflies, angels or fairies and

Pile It On - Crystal Clear you can use rhinestones, acetate, mirrors etc (I hope the gems are OK)

Now you know the score, please leave me a comment - I am addicted you know!!!

PS Don't forget my  BIRTHDAY candy here.

Last Minute Christmas card.

Good evening everyone, and hope you are all well and warm!!! We have had some hard frosts over the last couple of days - quite hairy when you are driving one way and the car is going the other way!!!
Anyway here is my last Christmas card - bit of a last minute thing as I realised I had forgotten someone - whoooops!!!
I have used the sketch at Friday Sketchers, a great one by Aud, thanks hun, and I wanted to try it.

I also fancied trying something new so I am having a go at the Spotlight challenge from Sunflowers and Dragonflies. I used a fantastic freebie image from Tracey Malfonski at The Stamping Boutique, her images are so gorgeous so please visit her shop - here. I decided to spotlight Audrey on the reindeer.

I used my favourite watercolour crayons plus a little bit of Sakura stardust gold pen on the bells and stars. The burgundy paper is from my stash - possibly from a Crafters Companion paper pack? Then I have used some papers from another favourite Seasons Greetings CD Rom from Artylicious. The polka dot paper is from Funky Fairys but I can't give you a link as the shop is closed!!! Also another favourite some glitter card.

The jewels are from my stash as are the tiny snowflake like buttons!!! Then I punched out some snowflakes in the glitter card and burgundy paper - plus some bright pink glitter card.
So there you have it. I am also entering this card in these other challenges :-

Traditional easel card

What a beautiful bright morning today in Devon. No sign of the snow that the South East has had. Just dropped No 1 dragon at school for her last day!!! No 2 dragon is downstairs with hubby who has finished work for the holidays too.
Her is another easel card - just love making them and this time with a Magnolia stamp I bought from a fellow crafter - thank you Sue.

This picture shows the easel shape and the next one shows the front better.

So I have gone for traditional colours. I coloured my Tilda with water colour crayons and a bit of glitter on her furry bits!! Here is a close up of the image to show the glitter better.

I have used my one and only Nestability for the scalloped circles cut from gold miri card and a piece of paper from the Artylicious CDRom Seasons Greetings. The paper on the bottom is also from here - finally I am using this CD - have had it since it was first released and hardly used it - but since joining in with challenges I have used it several times - yeh!! Under the scallops is a piece of torn vellum from my stash. I used the sketch from Midnight Madness shown below. These

are always fantastic but I find them harder to do - don't get me wrong that is good - they are challenges after all!!

The sentiment was from a card pack from Hot Off The Press called Paper Pizzazz sheets - Christmas. I have just mounted it on gold miri card and used it as the stopper to keeo the card up. the other embellishments are some buttons from my stash and some lace I won in a candy from Martine - thanks hun.

Now unfortunately I missed a couple of challenges because I didn't manage to post this yesterday but things conspired against me - like they do!!!!

Here are the ones I haven't missed!!!

Simon Says Challenge - Merry Christmas,

Quixotic Challenge - Lace,

Crafty Creations - Red, Green and Gold/Yellow,

Cute Daisy May - Green and Gold,

Little Paper Shop Recipe - Paper, Stamp and Embellishments,

Crafty Angels - Tear It Up,

The Pink Elephant - Winter/Christmas,

Sophisticat Challenge - Christmas theme,

Now something else to tell you about - it's my Birthday in the middle of January plus I have nearly got 100 followers and 10,000 hits. So guess what I am going to have a candy, watch this space!!!!

Another evening post, but it will have to be short as I have a rather sore blood shot eye - I know you don't want the details but I need to rest it! I am having problems putting this Magnolia stamp down, she is great. I have used a bag I won in a candy from Jude AKA Crafts International - thank you.

I then coloured my Tilda in using Promarkers and glitter. I made the sentiment using word and them mounted it on a small scallop from my new Nestability - I do however want some more - surprise surprise!!!
