And Finally my Birthday card winner

Yes, I have finally managed to find the time to post about all the fantastic cards I received for my Birthday. Now I will make no apology for the length of this post because I wanted to show off everyones card and link to their sites so I can spread some love!
Firstly, I am going to show the cards I received from my Christmas RAK friends.
These are from my best ever crafting buddy Dawn AKA Craftykitten and a lady who is currently in many peoples thoughts Jude at Crafts International.
Next we have the cards from Janet AKA Clarky J and Terry of Tellen's Place.

The next cards I am showing are from Clare and Angela at Sparkly Cards.

Lastly, from my RAK friends we have Julie at Julie's Crafty Corner and Lisa AKA Allissa.

Now I would like to show you the cards I received in response to Part 2 of my candy. Here goes!!!

Firstly, the cards from Crafty Suzy and Linda at PinkLilacs and I must add with all the cards the photos do not do them justice.

Then I had these two cards from Sarah AKA Anime Princess and Pat at My Mysterious Garden

The next two cards came from Rhonda and Kate T of Cato's Crafty Corner (who incidently pointed me in the right direction for a Tim Holtz distresser).

The final two cards are from the winner of part one of my candy Lyn AKA Spyder and a newbie crafter Wendy of Dinkum Creations - who makes some gorgeous jewellry.

Now I wasn't sure how to pick the winner, then my little dragon came in whilst I was photographing the cards and decided to pick the winner for me!!! This is my three year old, anyway she is a bit of a bull in a china shop sometimes so I thought OK. So the card she picked as her favourite was the one in this picture.

Cheeky little madam isn't she!!! This is the card from Sarah AKA Anime Princess - well done little lady.
You must let me know what candy / chocolate you prefer.

Tart and Tangy Tuesday Challenge

The challenge this week has been set by our DT Co-ordinator Heather and it is to use the Stampin Up colours of Cameo Coral, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. Now don't worry if you don't have the exact colours - I didn't and here is my card.

As you can see I have chosen to use the gorgeous tortoises which you can find here and will cost only $3.
The papers are from My Minds Eye and were a surprise Birthday present I received from Suzy - thank you hun. They were perfect for this challenge and I teamed them up with some Core'dinations card stock. Of course I have distressed everything using scissors and ink - I do love this technique and I feel I am getting a bit more confident with it now.

I have used the great sketch at Moving Along with the Times shown above, which I loved.

As you can see I have blinged up the tortoises with lots of sparkly gems. I have also used my nesties - all two of them. The sentiment is from a set called Fairy Delight.
I am also entering this card in the DT Call for a new challenge blog called I Love Digi. I only started to use digi stamps when I started my blog last July. I have found them to be so versatile and really fun and easy to use.
The other challenges I am entering are Your Next Stamp where they want anything sparkly and
KL Stampin N Scrappin where they would like you to use your Nesties, punches or dies.

So would you like to join in? Just follow the colour challenge this week and use a Rusty Pickles image then visit the blog and leave a direct link to your creation. The team will pop by and leave some encouragement and one lucky person will be drawn randomly to win a Rusty Pickles image.Check out the rest of the team there links are in my sidebar.

Have a great day everyone.

Shabby Chic Tilda

Good evening everyone, hope you have all had a good day wherever you are. Now I know I keep saying I love the Tilda images from Magnolia, well, I have bought some more and also have some of the new release ones on pre order!!!!! It's official I am not only addicted to blogging but Magnolia stamps too!!!!
This cutie is called Shabby Chic Tilda and I have sat her on a frame I won in a candy from Sarah AKA Anime Princess - a very talented young lady.
The sketch I have chosen to use is from a recent challenge find - Magnolia Stamp Lovers (how appropriate!!!) and is shown below. I have twisted it and added a few extras.

I coloured tilda with my inktense watercolour crayons, plus some glitter on her wings and the frilly bit of her top. The background is a cuttlebug folder - Fantasy Floral which I chalked with red to highlight the design.

The flowers and pin were from another candy win from Martine at the Craft Table - she has Simon Says candy at the moment too. The papers were from Funky Fairy's (now closed) and some music sheet paper I have had forever and never used - yeah I am keeping one of my New Years resolutions to use what I already have!!!

The sentiment is from a Fairy Doodles clear stamp set, chalked and distressed. There are also some heart gems because it looked rather bare in that corner!!

Now for the other challenges I am entering:-

Pile It On - Warm Wishes - my colours are warm,

Raise The Bar - The gift that keeps on giving - use anything someone has given you,

Allsorts Challenge - Hearts and flowers,

Saturday Spotlight - Let the sun shine in - use bright colours or mainly yellow,

Crafty Catz - Love,

Daring Cardmakers - What's the point - use something that points or has a point (my pin),

Pixie Dust Studio - Glitter and sparkle,

Flutterby Wednesday - Embossing plus a fairy, butterfly or angel (well Tilda does have wings), and

Magnolia Down Under - Valentine.

I will also enter this card in the Love blog hop at Practical Scrappers.

Please let me know what you think and also can anyone tell me where to find a Tim Holtz Distressing tool in England?

First Challenge at Doodle Dragon Studios

Good Morning crafters, hope everyone is well. I had a great birthday yesterday and received some stunning cards which I will share with you when I  post the result of my candy. I did spend some of my day crafting and here is the result. Dustin Pike a fantastic artist has finally started a challenge blog - Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog and the first challenge was to use a freebie image with a Valentine theme.

This is the image I was sent, he has been coloured with watercolour crayons and his wings have been glittered - I did glitter the growing cupcake but I notice the photo hasn't picked that up sorry! I wrote the sentiment, one because I didn't have one that said the right thing and two because the challenge at Paperplay Challenges is to use your own handwriting. I used a sakura stardust pen to write the sentiment.
I used the sketch at Cupcake Craft Challenges shown below. I have added extra embellishments as it looked rather bear! before.

I have used both my Spellbinders nestabilities - will have to get some more they are so good - to mount the image and for the circle at the side. I then embossed the glittery pink scallop using the Perfect Paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder and I am so pleased with the effect.

I have done a bit of punching too, I had to use my Xcut punches on the foam because the others didn't work!! The other flower is from the glittery pink card. I have further embellished the flowers with gems from Anita.

The hearts have been embellished using some flat backed pearls I received from Suzy, thanks hun.

They were the perfect colour for this card so just begged to be used!!! I am really pleased with the effect although it was very fiddly as they are tiny. The papers were from the now closed Funky Fairy's Christmas collection. I also used some Core'dinations Black Magic card heavily sanded to show the brown colour.

Phew have I finished - no not yet!! Now for all the other challenges I am entering this card in and there are a few:-

Doodle Palace - Pink and Bling,

Practical Scrappers - Any type of embossing,

Cooking It Up With Katie - A recipe - Non human image, Texture and Use a product never used before (flat backed pearls),

Cute Card Thursday - Fairy Fantastic (well the bear has wings)

Papertake Weekly - Pretty Pink,

Simon Says Challenges - Punch It,

Inky Impressions Challenge - Valentine card with pink and hearts,

Crafty Creations - Valentines/Love,

Creative Belli Challenge - Hearts,

Creative Card Crew - Punch It,

The Crafty Pad - Animal,

Bee Crafty - Favourite Colour Combo and a digi (I love Pink and Brown)and,

Allsorts - Pink and Brown.

There you have it!!! As ever I would love to know what you think.

Birthday Candy time!!!!

THIS CANDY IS NOW CLOSED WINNER OF PARTS 1 AND 2 WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON
SATURDAY - I HOPE!!!!!

Yes, folks it will be my Birthday on 21st January and to celebrate I have some candy for you. Firstly , though, I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to my followers. You always make me feel good about my work and want me to make more. You are the reason I am addicted to blogging!!!! I have only been doing this for 6 months and have nearly 100 followers and had nearly 10,000 hits how great is that.
I have also learned some new techniques, used new colouring mediums, made some new types of card all thanks to the fabulous challenges we are so lucky to have and not forgetting the inspiration from all of you.
Now my candy has two parts to it and I would be really please if you could do both, but it is totally up to you.

Part 1

Without further waffling here is the piccy of the goodies.

The details are as follows:-

Woodware Clear Stamp set - Fairy Delights
See D's Stamp set - Christmas theme
1 set of Craft tri beads
2 sheets of The Snowman Stickers
21 sheets of peel offs in various colours
1 Priscilla Styles envelope pattern

So what do you have to do to win these goodies. I have made it quite simple this time!!

1. Comment below and tell me your favourite crafting tool or give me a useful crafting tip.

There isn't a 2 but if you would like to become a follower that would be great. Lets face it that's how you meet new crafters and make some good friends along the way. You can also spread the word by putting a picture on your sidebar linking back to this candy but again that is totally up to you.

Part 2

If you fancy a big bar of real candy - Chocolate - would you like to send me a Birthday card? I must admit I find a January birthday rather depressing after all the hype and stress over Christmas and New Year so it would really make my day to receive some extra fabby cards on the big day. You can find my email address in my profile, just email me and I will send you my address.

This candy will end on 21st January 2010 and I will draw the winner of my Birthday candy, and Chocolate candy on the 30th January 2010 so you have plenty of time to join in!!!

Very Special Birthday Card

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY RUSTY PICKLES DT POST

This is the card I have sent to my best crafting buddy Dawn AKA Craftykitten, I couldn't wish for a better more supportive friend. Please check out her blog and give her some love too. Anyway it is her birthday today and I thought Iwould try something different. I found this new challenge blog for Magnolia stamps - Magnolia-licious Highlights where they are asking you to make a frame card. The instructions can be found here on a great blog called Pretty Pressings. As Dawn knows I have grown to love Magnolia stamps since I started blogging in July last year, and I have chosen this great Tilda as a Butterfly image I won in a candy.

I have used our favourite colour, purple, and my favourite colouring medium - watercolour pencils. Plus of course some gorgeous purple glitter for the wings. The other embellishments are flowers made from a couple of my punches and topped with gems or a brad, plus a little butterfly gem. The background paper is from Joanna Sheens Messy Rabbit and can be found here (it's on offer at the moment too - free P & P). The sentiment was from a kit I bought recently from Create and Craft.
The back of the frame also needed to be tidied up a bit so I added my favourite Rusty Pickles image transformed into a flower!! you can find it here.

I'm sure Dawn won't mind if I enter this card into a few other challenges!!!

They are:-

Sew Many Challenges - Anything goes,

Paper Makeup Stamps - Birthday,

Crafty Catz - Birthday and

Easy Craft Projects - Lavender.

I hope you liked your card mate - I loved making it especially for you.

Hugs

Time for a Tart and Tangy Tuesday Taster!!!!

Now try saying that quickly after a few drinks!!!!! This is the new Tuesday feature for The Rusty Pickles Design Team. Every Tuesday (except on New Release weeks) the team will be showing off images from The Rusty Pickles Digital Delights shop, we will also be throwing in challenges along the way - for the DT but you could always join in if you fancy it!!!
Anyway without further ado here is my Tart and Tangy card for today.

You can find the image here.  I have coloured the heart using watercolour pencils and glittered the border and the detail with red and gold glitter respectively.

I have put a real button on the drawning of a button for added texture.

Here you can see I have layered the heart on to a scallop shape and added flowers which were from a candy I won at The Craft Table thanks Martine. I have also used some Cored'inations cardstock which has been embossed using my swirls cuttlebug folder, this has been distressed with sandpaper to highlight the detail. The sentiment was from a Fairy Doodles clear stamp set.

Whoops nearly forgot, I used the sketch at Stampin' for the Weekend which is shown below.

Tilda Birthday

Hi everyone, hope all is well in blogland. My mojo is a bit like a yoyo at the moment there one minute and gone the next!!! So I am making the most of it with this card, I hope you like it.
I have used the sketch at Magnolia Stamp Lovers shown below - as you know since starting my blog in July 09 I have come to love Magnolia stamps especially Tilda and here she is. Just purchased and I have used her on Birthday card even though she is a Christmas image Christmas Party Tilda, which means I have met the challenge at Magnolia Down Under - stamp with another use.

I coloured with water colour pencils and then mounted her on a scrap of paper which I distressed to within an inch of its life!!! - welll I tried anyway - scissors and ink and I am happy with the result.

In this picture you can see that I have had a go at the Just Magnolia Challenge which is Paper pleating - not sure about this though, may have to try again!!! The sentiment was from a Buzzcraft set of clear stamps called Fairy Doodles, and distressed again.

I used a rose I won in a candy win from Martine, and I have added some glitter - hope you can see it.
the other  papers are from Funky fairys and Core'dinations - this has been sanded and scissored around the edges!!!

I will also enter this card in the following challenges :-

The Pink Elephant - Birthday,

The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Distressing,

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Going Girly,

Stamp Scrap and Doodle - Celebration,

Crazy 4 Challenges - Birthday,

Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog - Distressing

Simon Says - Shabby Chic,

Now my 5 year old is having a mega tantrum because I put baked beans on her plate!!!! Will finish properly later!!
