Hi folks, and welcome to my first DT post for Die Cut Dreams and what a great challenge to start me off with.

I used Tilda wit hmany hearts and coloured her with Promarkers. The hearts are glittered with crystal glitter and the scalloped circle is distressed with Spun sugar distress ink. This is then layered onto a black glitter piece cut using the Lacey Circles Spellbinders die. The background is red card stamped with hearts from the Crafters Companion set - Love. They were heat embossed with black glitter embossing powder. I also punched out some hearts from black glitter card - well there weren't nearly enough hearts yet!!! "Lasting Memories" Layout Challenge #23

Lasting Memories

My the weeks are flying by, January is nearly over! So it is Sunday and time for another "Lasting Memories" Layout Challenge. Before I tell you what it is I would like to thank those who took part with our Stamp Away challenge, we had some fantastic entries - pop over to the "Lasting Memories" blog to find out who made the top three. This week we have a sketch for you ...........................

.....................and I flipped it over to produce this.......................

As usual I have used Digital Scrapbook Artist to make my layout. The subject is our cat, Poodle, who is a cheeky little thing. She is 15 but acts a lot younger and definately likes to eye up the birds!! Our neighbour cut down his tree in the summer and Poodle has used the stump to get just that little bit closer to our feathered friends. Needless to say none landed as she was rather obvious!!!

I look forward to seeing what you make of the sketch and please check out my team mates for some more inspiration, their links are on my left sidebar.

Just a few challenges to enter:-

Simon Says Stamp - Animal Antics,

Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything Goes
Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - Anything Goes plus some cute animal, and,

Everybody Art - My favourite things - cat and digital scrapbooking (to name a couple).

See you soon. Hugs.

"Lasting Memories" Layouts Challenge #22

Lasting Memories

Happy Sunday to you all and hope you are all well. A week has passed and we have another great challenge for you at "Lasting Memories" Layout Challenges .

We would like you to Stamp Away - use your favourite stamp on your layout.

Now as you know I am a digital scrapper so I have two layouts to show you using my favourite range of stamps - Magnolia. I have used the Sleeping Baby  Tilda stamp - thank you Dawn for sending it to me.
This first one is the digital layout with a photo image of the stamp, I had coloured and glittered, on the layout.

This next one ...................

............. is where I printed the layout and then stuck the image on. Here is a closeup of the image itself, coloured with watercolours and glittered.

I am also loving the process of sorting through all my digital photos. It is bringing back so many memories of my two girls when they were babies. I love these because I managed to get similar poses but I think you can tell by the expressions that one is slightly older and stronger and giggling!!!!

18th Birthday Card

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear Dragonlady!!!!! Happy Birthday to me!!

Sorry just had to do that - saddo eh!!

I am not very good at boys/mens cards. This one took a long time to develop but I am pleased with the result. My second cousin will be celebrating his 18th next week so I wanted to do something a bit different.  Funny though I was so sure he was 15 last year - how does that work???

I have used a few buttons and some card candy - which has come in very useful recently. A lovely key charm and a dog button. The letters were from a Daisytrail kit called - At The Zoo cut out and stuck on!!!!!

Any good idea for presents for an 18 year old?

Just a few challenges to enter -

Pile It On - Anything Goes,

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - Extra large card (mine is 6" by 8"),

Charisma Challenge - Magic Numbers, and,

Aud Sentiments Challenge #20 Use the word "Love"

Another fortnight has flown by and another difficult decision has been made. Please check out the Aud Sentiments Challenge blog to see who won and got the top 3 positions. Thank you to everyone who played along with us.

Our next challenge is to use the word "Love" in your sentiment. All in good time for Valentines day. We are being sponsored by

who kindly sent us some images to use - check out their shop here. My card uses Loving Hug - I really liked how this turned out too.

I even had some sunshine to take the picture. I have used a Spellbinder label to make the frame and added silver candy to the corners. The swirls are made from a Marianne Designs Creatables die called Frame and Swirls. I embossed the purple card with the swiss dots folder and cut it out using some scalloped scissors.

The image is coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from Patchwork Polly - Julie Stamp I distressed it around the edges after cutting it out with another Spellbinder die. The paper is from Polka Doodles - one of the CDs - Sundae of Seasons. The flowers are from my stash as was the brad.

Please check out the rest of the teams creations - their links are on my right sidebar.

Just a few challenges to enter!!!

"Lasting Memories" Challenge #20 and Blog Hop

Lasting Memories

Good morning and welcome to our blog hop! You should have arrived at my blog after visiting Sue so welcome.

To allow each of the new DT members to really introduce themselves, this week's challenge is sweet and simple..."show us YOUR personal style"! What do you love to incorporate into your layouts? Is it colours, die cuts, embellishments, simplicity?? We can't wait to see your creativity.

So what is my style you ask - I have only been scrapbooking for 6 months after having bought Digital Scrapbook Artist 2. So yes you guessed it I am a digital scrapbooker. My layouts tend to incorporate pictures of my children and occasionally I will add a stamped image.

Here is the layout I have made for this blog hop.

I have used Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 and a digikit from Daisytrail to make my page and what I think is a beautiful picture of my youngest daughter concentrating for once!!!!

To be considered for Top 3, all you have to do is link your creation below before Saturday, Jan 8 @ 9pm EST! Top 3 and new challenge will be posted on Sunday @ 8am. Your next stop is Lauren so hop on over and see what her style is.

Here is a list of the order in case you get lost

Ali that's me!

I look forward to seeing your style and visiting a lot of new sites to me - scrapbookers!!

Just a couple of challenges for this layout:-

Papercrafting Journey - Digital, and,

Paper Playtime - Faces on your project.

Let's Ink It Up Challenge #8 Anything Goes

I hope you didn't miss us too much. I know I was very glad of the break, things get so hectic over the holiday period. New year, new logo and new look blog at Let's Ink It Up - what do you think - I love it. So without further ado welcome to our first challenge of 2011. It's a nice easy one to get you into the swing of things so to speak!

ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor for this challenge is Make It Crafty who are offering the winner a stamp of your choice.

So here is my DT card something clean and simple but with a new technique for me.

The new technique is on my label - I saw it demonstrated by Sue (the lovely American lady) on a Spellbinders show and wanted to try it. Basically you put little torn stripes of low tack tape over a piece of card, overlapping them to add the texture. You then cover the whole area with a distress ink of your choice - mine was Dusty Concord - then cover with clear embossing powder and heat. I am very pleased with the result - what do you think? Here is a closeup.........................

The image is from Rachel Miller (I think - if you know better let me know) I have had it for some time and finally got round to inking it up colouring with Promarkers - I love how it turned out. The shaped corners are from the Spellbinders Shapeability - Fanciful Holiday - the cast offs!!!!! I then used a ribbon I purchased at the NEC in November from Crafty Ribbons - they have a fabulous range please check them out. The words around the outside are from a brand new purchase - Trago Mills (Newton Abbot) sells them at a very reasonable price and they have a 15% off sale at the moment (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in January) - Woodland Folk Perfect Day.

Please check out my talented team mates for some more inspiration, their links are on my sidebar.

Now just a few challenges to enter:-

Pile It On - Brand Spanking New (new stamp and new technique),

Paper Sundaes - Something New,

The Crazy Challenge - All things new,

Let's Party and Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year to you all - sorry I am a day late but life got in the way - nothing serious just playing with the children.

I would like to say thank you to be best crafting friend for this lovely image - hope I have done it justice Dawn. I am rather partial to Lili of the Valley images (the shop is closed at the moment so I can't link to the image) and am currently awaiting their new release next week - the 11th I think.
So I coloured this beauty with my Promarkers and decided to join in with a colour challenge using a combo I haven't done yet - Pink, red and white.

I used my Spellbinders Labels 15 to make a frame in red card - decorated with tiny pink pearls. Oh and the pink feather is one of my daughters that was on the way to the bin!!! - great left over!!! The ribbon ensemble was a purchase from the Christmas isle - something new that was too good to use on presents!!! - how sad is that. The papers were some I printed off a Crafters Companion CD Rom and put in a folder for later - note to self write the name of the CD on the back of the paper. The sentiment was made using Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 - playing around and came up with this.

I am going to enter the following challenges:-

I Love Promarkers - Anythoing Goes,

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - Pearls,

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Let's Party,
