Last one Honest!!!!

Now I know I said I wasn't going to do anymore Halloween cards but I ordered this Tilda stamp from Crafts U Love and I had to ink it up straight away. I have really come to love these stamps because they are really easy to work with.
I have used the great sketch at Cupcake Crafts shown below.

I have used a base black card and the other card is another of my favourites - Core'dinations, from the bottom up (excuse the expression!) Whitewash, ROY.G.BIV and Black Magic all obtained from The Range.
I have sanded all the card to distress it - really lovely effect.

The flowers are from the same card and sanded and have brads from Papermania in the middles. The punches were from Woodware and Xcut.

I painted Tilda with my trusty watercolours and used foam pads to put her on the spiders web paper from Summer Driggs - Happy Halloween Kit.

The fibres are from my stash - seem to have had them forever - and I just managed to tie a bow in  it!!!!

The other challenges I am entering are :-

Saturday Challenge - Orange plus one other colour (Black in my case),

Magnolia Down Under - Distressing (plus Magnolia image),

The Pink Elephant -  Black, hardware (brads) and distressing,

Creative Belli Challenge - Rafia or twine (hope my fibres are acceptable),

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Halloween,

If the Shoe Fits - Halloween and

Just Magnolia - Monochrome (can have one other colour)

I am really pleased with this card and glad I got to use this image this year and didn't have to wait!!!! Please tell me what you think.

Shaped Card.

Hello fellow crafters, hope you are all well.
I have done something a little different with my card this time. I have used the sketch at Little Paper shop shown below to do a shaped card.

I have used a template from the Polka Doodles CD Rom Jingle Jangles , I do love scallops. I have used one of the papers to cover it and then put a ribbon from my stash across the middle. The image and sentiment is also from this CD Rom. I have mounted the image onto silver glitter card.

The snowflakes are made using an Xcut punch on the glitter card. The bracket (not sure of the correct technical term!) was hand drawn and cut out of a scrap of Core'dinations card.

The other challenges I am entering this card in are:-

Dare you to digi stamp - Shaped card,

If the Shoe fits....scrap it - Blue, White and Silver,

The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Shaped Card,

Simon Say's Challenges - Sparkles,

Papertake Weekly - Spots and Stripes and

Creative Card Crew - Snowflakes.

I hope you like it and please let me know.

The children and Mums enjoyed it too.

Any comments would be gratefully accepted.

Get Well Magnolia

Good morning crafters, hope the weather is fine for you today. The Halloween party looms and yesterday I baked a cake!!!! So what I hear you say - well, I don't do cakes!!! I probably won't do anymore either after this effort - well it is probably edible but the butter icing on top was supposed to be orange - yep you guessed it  - for a pumpkin - but it turned out red. I was going to take a picture to show off my other skills but I obviously haven't got any (sob sob!)

Anyway enough of feeling sorry for myself and onto my card for today. I have fallen in love with the Magnolia stamps particularly Tilda and have ordered one - a Halloween one so won't get used till next year but I really love the Tilda as a bat!! The one I have used on my card was a stamped image I received in a candy win.

I have coloured her with water colour crayons and added crystal glitter on the neckline of her top. The oval shape is from Core'dinations - ROY.G.BIV - and has been sanded to distress the edges - I hope you can see it. The main background paper is from Funky Hand - It's Funky Too, and the pale pink paper is from Funky Fairys - Simply Brushed and the brown and pink paper is from their Chocolate Covered Christmas kit and this has been torn along the edge - a bit more distressing.

The flowers have been punched out from brown felt ( I have had this since I first started crafting and suddenly thought about it today for brown flowers - there would have been too much pink otherwise), and corrugated card with added gems for a bit of bling. The sentiment is one I have had for ages and been very reluctant to use but needs must - sorry I can't remember who they are from.
Whoops I nearly forgot, the sketch is from Just Magnolia and is one of Martines - it is lovely and is shown below

I managed to get the paper layers mixed up but I don't think that matters!!

The other challenges I am entering this card for are :-

Use Your Stash - most treasured stash (sentiment and felt),

Simon Says Challenge - Get Well Card,

My Time To Craft - Rip It Up,

Magnolia Down Under - Distressing plus Magnolia Stamp and

Sophisticat Challenge - Pink, Brown and flowers.

Finally, another card done. Please pop by and let me know what you think, your comments do mean a lot to me.

Thanks

All Right, sorry White!!

Hi everyone,

School holidays for a week - ideal time for the children as right near Halloween. Anyway, no Halloween card today but an all white card (mostly!) for the challenge at Colour Create. I managed to find some embossed card in my stash that I have had for ages - a freebie at some point - but is really lovely (I think so anyway - still hankering for a die cutting machine to do the embossing!!).

Shock horror I have actually managed to use the sketch at Midnight Madness as above. I say this because I find them very challenging - which is good but I have shied away from them in the past. Have changed the shape a bit and the placement of the flower.

The image is one I received in a candy win, but I haven't a clue who she is so if someone knows please let me know - Thanks. I coloured her with my favourite water colour crayons and glittered the daisy with my favourite crystal glitter - can you see where this is going!! I punched out two flowers in white glitter card and 3D'd them putting another favourite in the middle - a gem! The Scallop shape is from a punch and was cut in half - again punched out of my favourite white glitter card. More gems around the side. Here is another view for you.

I am really pleased with the result and here are the other challenges I have entered:-

La La Land Crafts - Sparkle (glitter and gems),

Charisma Cardz - Delightful Daisys,

Daring Cardmakers - 5 of your favourite things (Gems, glitter card, scallop punch, Water colours and crystal glitter)

Frosted Design - 3D (Flower),

Practical Scrappers - Punches and

Crazy4Challenges - 3 geometric shapes (Square card, circle with the image and two triangles).

Another card which I have enjoyed making and has used things I had forgotten about. This is what it's all about!! Please let me know what you think - I do love reading all your comments.

Thanks and hugs

Halloween 17!

Good afternoon on a very changeable Autumn day. Bit like my mood - very up and down - I have enjoyed making this card and it has taken my mind off things.
I have used the sketch at A Spoon Full of Sugar which is shown below, good one Debbie.

I have finally got round to using some images I bought from Bee Crafty here called, strangely enough, "Halloween set". I coloured them using my watercolour crayons.

The papers and sentiment are from a freebie at The Creative Cottage called Spooktacular - it is still available until the end of October - so don't hang about!! The other paper I have used is one from Summer Driggs and is called Fangs for the Memories.
Now her we go, I think I have managed 17 challenges - not so difficult as you may think as over half are Halloween themed.

Everbody Art - Halloween,

Digital Tuesday - Things with wings ( I have a bat),

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Things that go bump in the night,

Allsorts Challenge - Furry Friend (there is a cat and the bat and monster look furry),

Crafty Creations - All Hallows Eve,

Cats Corner - Halloween and a cat,

Kaboodle Doodle Challenge - Spooky,

Stampin' for the weekend - A Haunting Good Time,

Not a Card

Good afternoon crafters and a BIG THANKYOU to those who have left me comments about Poppy, I really appreciate that you have taken the time to read and comment on that post.

Although I am really  not in the mood to make things right now I had to do these for my daughters Halloween party on Tuesday - whilst she is at school. These are bags full of goodies for her and her friends. The bags were made using a template from a Crafters Companion CDRom - Occasions.

I then added some stamped images which had been watercoloured. They are one of my favourites from Pink Cat Studio Itty Bitty Halloween. I then filled the bags with yummy candy with a Halloween theme of course.

There you have it - oh I did sort of dress the photos with some fake cobwebs and spiders - I am trying!!

The challenges I am entering are:-

Cute Card Thursday - Candy Corns (Candy themed cards or projects),

Polka Doodles - Halloween theme,

Digital Ink Co - Anything but a Card and

Cats Corner - Halloween with a cat in it.

Please let me know what you think.

Hugs

Goodbye Poppy

Hi everyone,

Not good news I'm afraid. As some of you read on Saturday I took my cat Poppy to the vet to be given some tablets and told that she needed to have her teeth done. I was not entirely happy then because I did not think she could have declined so quickly just because of her teeth. Anyway I persevered with the tablets but asked for another appointment on Tuesday because she wasn't any better and wasn't eating, also by now she was making a pitiful miaow which meant to me that she was in pain. The vet still said it was her teeth causing the problem even after I mentioned that she was wobbly on her legs - almost drunk looking.  I asked if she could be booked in quickly to sort her teeth out as she was obviously in pain - she was booked in the next day. My husband took her in after dropping the kids at school and nursery.
Anyway at about 10.30 am yesterday I got a phone call at work from the vet. They had done a blood test to see if she could take an anesthetic and found that she had massive kidney failure. They said they could flush them out but that wouldn't really help because they had already failed. So I had to make the decision I had dreaded but in my heart of hearts knew I had to make - put her to sleep and out of her pain.
She was a fantastic cat and helped through some rough times before I met my husband. Always there with a purp or a nudge to say hey whats up. I have some great photos of her and wanted to share them with you.
I wanted to post this in memory of my best friend. Oh dear here come the tears again!!!

My first step/accordian card.

Goodmorning crafters, and welcome to my first ever step card. I have been wanting to try this technique out for quite a while and then I saw the challenge at Saturday Spotlight which is to make a scene. Aha I thought I can make a scene with a step card and here it is. Most of the images are from Scrapbooking mad (who incidently are having a sale check my post here for the link and a money off coupon). The tree was a freebie at Digital Ink Co Bloghop.

I made the sign using one of the sentiments on a piece of lolly pop stick. The bats, some of the ghosts and the witch flying over the moon were some confetti. The cloud is some cotton wool!!!

I enclosed the whole card with acetate and used yellow star brads from my stash to attach it. The bats were then stuck on the acetate. I really enjoyed making this card as it was a bit more creative.
Now for the challenges I have entered it in - lots of Halloween ones at the moment!!!

One Stop Craft Challenge - Halloween,

Papertake Weekly -  The Dark Side,

Cute Card Thursday - Spook Fest,

Daring Cardmakers - I can see clearly - use acetate, window, cling film,

Digital Tuesday - Boo! and digi image

The Corrosive Challenge - Spooky Times,

Creative Friday - Halloween,

StampARTic - Boo,

Stampin, B's Design Team - a Halloween card and

Please say what you think, I really do appreciate all your comments. Thanks
