Die Cut Dreams Challenge #84 Spring Garden scene.

Good morning everyone, hope you had a good weekend. It's time for a new challenge at Die Cut Dreams Challenge but before I reveal it I would like to thank everyone for their fantastic new baby girl creations. It made for difficulties when choosing our favourites!!!

So this fortnight we would like you to create a

SPRING GARDEN SCENE.

Now here is something funny/odd you decide but every time I look at this card I smile and I love it even more each day!!!! I have used an image from a Fairy Doodles set which I must confess I won in a candy over a year ago!!! Can't believe I haven't got round to using this until now.
I have coloured the image with watercolour crayons, glittered the wings and then distressed the edges of the die cut. The patterened paper is from Smirk and is called Love and Friendship. I have cut all the shaped pieces using the Spellbinders nestability Labels 8. The piece behind the image is centura pearl card embossed using a Victoria and Albert Hanoverian folder.

The lace was from a local Haberdashery shop and I have threaded through some ribbon to coordinate with the rest of the card. The flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid crafts (I think!). Finally the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley - Dreamy Days set. Oh and by the way have you seen the sneaky peaks of the new stamps due out on 9th March - overdraft here we come!!!! Nearly forgot to say the background is stamped using a couple of stamps from the Clearly Hand Stamped set by 3 Birds - can't find it for sale anywhere -sorry.

Anyway I can't wait to see what you come up with and if you would like some more inspiration please check out my teammates creations. Their links are on my left sidebar.

Just a couple of challenges for this card!!!!

Fussy and Fancy Friday - Embossing or paper piecing,

Crafty Creations - Bottom of the garden,

Flutterby Wednesday - Open plus fairy/butterfly/angel,

"Lasting Memories" Challenge #27 A Sketch

Lasting Memories

I can't believe how quickly the weeks are going at the moment. Half term is over, girls are back to school tomorrow and I'm back to work on Tuesday - time to relax!!!! Yeah right!!
So it's time for another challenge from Lasting Memories, and we have a sketch for you.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I have used the sketch to show off my flower photos taken last week.

As usual I have used Digital Scrapbook Artist to make the layout but I have only used a few things from digikits. The flower broder at the bottom is made using the flower heads from my pictures. The background is also from one of my photos. Really getting into the manipulation of photo side of things.

Please check out my teammates for some more inspiration - their links are on my left sidebar.

Just a few challenges to enter

Papercutz Challenge - Spring,

Do You Stack Up - Anything Goes.

I would love to hear what you think.

Another boys card

My card today is for my other nephew who will be 12 next week. I have used the By the River stamp by Lili of the Valley - and yes I used to play by the river when I was little - well they were rhynes (pronounced reens) if you are from Somerset you will know what I mean. I used to collect frog spawn and look at the newts too and I was probably only 6 or 7. I'm not sure I would be happy for my 6 year old to play in the same area although she can swim (I couldn't at that age) - did my parents know where I was - who knows!!!!

The image was coloured with water colour crayons and cut out with my nestabilities Large and small labels. The background is made from the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder on centura pearl card distressed with China blue Distress ink. The papers were from a freebie set I received on a Magazine so long ago I can't remember which one. The buttons were from a Polka Doodles CD called Candy Doodles with some orange ribbon in the middle. The dragonfly is from a set of gems by Anita which I have had for at least 6 years. Oh and the sentiments are from Lili of the Valley too the Boy Oh Boy set.

Here are the challenges I am entering:-

Do You Stack Up - Anything Goes,

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Birthday Wishes,

Scrap Creations - Birthday,

Craft Your Passion - Male card,

I Did It Creations - Anything Goes,

Paper Sundaes - Male colours,

Pile It On - Childhood Dreams, and,

Crafty Catz - one for the boys.

Please let me know you have visited your comments are always lovely to receive.

A new award

I have been very naughty by not posting this award sooner so huge apologies to Mel who gave it to me. Thank you so much for the award and also for all the support she has given me. Now on with the rules.

You have been TAGGED .Create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the person link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 to5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged.

This is the difficult bit - narrowing it down to 5 people. I have decided to give this award to some new friends I have made in the world  of scrapbooking. As many of you will know it is a new area to me and I am really enjoying making layouts with the thousands of photos I hardly ever look at!!!!

So this is for you guys at Lasting Memories - thank you for having me.

Tiffany (Happy Birthday hun),

Ashley and a special mention for Ashleigh Karen's daughter.

Yes, I know that is more than five but how could I choose!!!!

Aud Sentiments Challenge # 22 Cool Sentiment.

Thank you to everyone who gave us such a laugh over the last fortnight - there were some fantastic cards with some fantastically corny sentiments. Please check out the Aud Sentiments Challenge blog to see who won and the top three.

This fortnight our challenge is to use a COOL SENTIMENT and we are being sponsored by Kenny K Downloads

The DT were allowed to choose an image to use - I chose Alice Chains - I really like the Gothik Angelz and they are certainly something completely different for me.

Here is my card....

As you can see I have chosen to use my favourite colour - purple - and I just felt it had to be black with the Gothik theme. The papers are from a Summer Driggs kit called Bubblegum and Licorice - I did slightly change the colour of the papers. I have used the Labels Two Nestabilities to got out the image and then drew around the outside to get a slightly larger matt on black glitter card. I have edged the image with Dusty Concord Distress ink.

I have coloured the image with Promarkers and Silver stardust gel pen. The sentiment and wings are from a Clearly Hand Stamped set by 3 Birds. The wings have been embossed with black glitter embossing powder. There is also a peice of black Magic Core'dinations card which has been embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The flowers are a mixture of petaloo and Papermania (I think!) with a bit of shiny purple candy on top.

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with, and please check out my team mates to see some more inspiration - their links are on my left sidebar.

Just a few challenges to enter:-

Die Cut Dreams Challenge # 83 It's a Girl (baby)

Good morning everyone hope you had a relaxing weekend. Thank you to everyone who joined in with our last challenge and boy was it hard to choose our favourites. Please check out the Die Cut Dreams Challenge blog to see who won.

Our challenge this fortnight is "It's a Girl (baby)".

Here is my card...........

I wanted to do something a bit different so I chose to make a double easel card - I saw the technique on Create and Craft and thought I would have a go.

I used a 21cm square card folded in half. Then cut down the front side at 10.5 cm towards the fold. You then need to score a diagonal line from the centre fold out to the edge of each 10.5 cm square. Fold over to make a triangle on each side.
You then need two 10.5 cm squares to go on the front of the triangles. You will need to be sure to check which way you attach the squares to be sure they are the right way up when the card is assembled. Decorate to your taste and place a raised piece in the middle of the bottom half of your card as the stand.

I hope that was not too confusing (I am writing this while watching the BAFTAS) I did try to draw a diagram but it was proving rather difficult so I appologise for not being very professional in my description. I found it very easy to do without any instructions so hopefully if you have done an ordinary easel card you will find it just as easy.

Here are a few more pictures.....

and another

I have used one of the fabulous stamps from the Crafters Companion SWALK range - Special Little Person. The image is coloured with watercolour crayons and the edge is glittered with pink glitter. The sentiment was from another Crafters Companion set - Popcorn - Bundle of Joy. I have used the Spellbinders Nestability Labels Nine, flowers from a candy win, pearls from my crafting buddy and team mate Dawn AKA Craftykitten. The bow is from the Papermania Capsule collection - Red hot. I also used a cuttlebug embossing folder - Divine Swirls on centura pearl card. The paper on the base of the card was from Craftwork Cards.

Please check out my team mates for some more inspiration - their links are in my left sidebar.

Finally just a couple of challenges:-

Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes,

Do You Stack Up - Ribbon,

Paper Sundaes - Pick your topping - I chose pink and flowers, and,

Crafty Creations - Three little words.

Let me know you came by I do like to receive your comments.

"Lasting Memories" Challenge #24 Die cuts/Cricuts

Lasting Memories

Another week has flown by and we have another great challenge for all you scrappers out there or new scrappers like me. We would like to see you use your cricut or, if like me you don't have one, your die cuts.

The die cut is the cute badger sitting on the mushroom, it is a Do Crafts die cut from the Woodland Folk range. I have teamed him up with some photos of my daughters taken a few years ago. I love the way Emily is looking up at Alex with that adoring look - shame it is not there now!! They were taken by the lady who ran the nursery they went to - just loved the mushroom cushion.
The background and frames are from a freebie for Digital Scrapbook artist called Fairytale made by Wendy P. The other bits and pieces are from several digikits which can be found at Daisytrail.
Please check out my lovely team mates for some more inspiration - their links are on my left sidebar.

Just a few challenges for this one

Sir Stampalot Challenge - All creatures great and small,

Totally Papercrafts - Friendship,

Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes.

Hugs to you all.

Aud Sentiments Challenge #21 Corny Valentine

Wow everyone, we had so many entries last fortnight and such a high standard we had real trouble picking the winner and top 3 - check out the Aud Sentiments Challenge blog to see if it was you.

Our challenge this fortnight is to use a CORNY VALENTINE SAYING ............so get your thinking caps on.

We are being sponsored by Inktegrity who will be giving the winner a $10 gift voucher.
The DT were given a selection of images to use and I chose Mikey the Monkey who comes with several valentine type sentiments.

I used Promarkers to colour him and cut the image out with the scalloped spellbinder die cut. I matted it on to another scalloped border - I draw around the one I used to cut out the image so the border around is not too large. I have distressed both circles with Tea dye distress ink.

The buttons, flowers and border are from a Polka Doodles CD - the flowers have been distressed cut and crumpled for added texture. The sentiment is one of the ones you get with Mikey the Monkey.

Please visit the rest of the team for some more inspiration - their links are in my left sidebar.

Now for some challenges:-

Crafts 4 Eternity - Polka Dots,

Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Love is in the air,

For my Valentine...........

.....................and I don't think he has seen it!!!!!!
I bought this stamp a while ago and finally got a chance to use it for my hubby's valentine card -
Cupid at Work from Penny Black. I didn't think the Tilda cards I have made were appropriate for him somehow!!!
I have coloured cupid with watercolour crayons and put a glaze on the little hearts - hope you can see in this closeup..............

If you click on the image you should get a bigger version - and the sunshine seems to have washed it out a bit!!!!

I have used flower punches on corrugated card and a brad for the flowers. The flower border is an EK Success punch called  Garden Flower punched into red glitter card - took a while to get used to this punch but got there in the end. The embossed card is co'ordinations card and a Country Companion folder of hearts. The backing paper is from a Papermania set - and unbelievably I just pushed the wrong button and posted this halfway through aaaaaaaaaargh!!!!
I have added some flourishes from a Mariannes die cut and some bling gems from my stash.
Not too girly I hope!

So I need to get to the challenges so I can post again!!!

Simon Says Stamp - Animal Antics,

Penny Black Saturday - I used their sketch,

Paper Sundaes - Valentine,

Paperplay Challenge - Layer it up,

Craft Your Passion - Bling, Hearts and red,

Cooking It Up with Katie - Current sketch, Punch and Texture, and,

Do you think my hubby will like it???

Hugs
